Writing Across Media
Attendance (7/22-)
** Rationale
Make sure that you look at the comments I left for you in the audio and visual
Apply them
Look up in text citations, on Purdue owl
Varying sentence structure- (X) the, noun // (O) take the verb that you are using and start with verb–ing
Apply notes to everywhere
Every source that I reference, you refer to present, active voice
Readable, make a story
When you include source, need two direct quotes: each of these quotes should be from two different sources. How does that quote interact with your project. What does your sample do in relation to your work.
Important: Reflection and Theory
Write in line in your reflection about what you can do or what ways this project influences your remix ideas. What would you do differently.
(X) we, you(why: you don’t know the reader), do not overgeneralize (1. Bad form, 2. Doesn’t tell me anything.)
Give me details. After quote, right after explain to your readers what that quote means to you. Explain what vocab means. (e.g. successful), stay away from cliché
When you start with This: this is why… use different words, refer.
Be specific.
Relate it back to reading.
Never forget to include “so what”
Get used to defend yourself. Defend your choices. As an artist’s statement/POV. Brilliant work.
Switching medium, generation, layers, why on the internet, why it is popular.
Explain rhetorical positioning. What appeals to who and why.

fighting
affordances of social media-> remixing(take something and alter) the message, image

remix definition .. at the beginning of hw video
sampling
remixing is folk art
credit, citing what your sample is, citations are map, giving somebody else credit,
cite that voices you know, giving credit is the difference between stealing and remixing, citations are key with legal system and school system, not separating it with citation marks is to note that something's changing. clear distinction between your own words and someone else's,
education / corporation legal liability
create new things from the old, small details makes it different.
for every artists, everybody who composes, you want to be different and innovative. But no one has your experiences, no one else will write in your same way. because of your different positionality, background.
even if someone got the same physical marking, it's remixing
even though it's on her, it doesn't belong to her.
everything is 'o'riginal, slightly different, impossible to have something that's not original
remixes are original works
